What is the role of art in the world?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 01, 2008:
Art is a way to express the creative moment. An unknown poet siad,
The past is history,
The future a mystery,
This moment is a gift,
Which is why it is called "the present."
So often we are too busy in our minds we miss the present moment and the art. In the appreciation of life we can find the awe and wonder in all things. The outer world can reveal an authenticity that can enrich our inner self with an emotional imprint of transformational beauty. It could be anything, like a child playing, the ocean breeze, a nurishing meal, the breath, or even the sun striking a particle of dust.
